Dartboard Surrounds

One of the risks involved in darts is a damaged wall. Especially for beginning darters, a dart can sometimes work its way off the board, leaving an unintentional relief in the wall. Nowadays there is a solution for this as well: the dart surround!

What is a dartboard surround?

A dartboard surround, or dartboard ring, is a ring-shaped protective plate. As the word dart surround implies, you place it around your dartboard. Just like with a dartboard with backboard or other dart wall protection, any darts you miss while darting are then caught by this dart board protection instead of by your wall. Except, unlike a dart board backboard, a surround is made of a softer material that holds on to the darts and doesn't make a loud noise when you hit it. Only the extreme outliers will sometimes pass the dart surround ring, but a good darter knows how to get them inside the edges of the dartboard surround. So while it is not a guarantee for an undamaged wall, it certainly does help!
